What Can the Pantry Do for You?

The pantry has a variety of canned food and other non-perishable items that are available.  Foods such as pasta products, canned meats and fish, cereal, canned fruits, vegetables and soups are available.  Often, there are personal care products and toiletries.  The rule is “If you don’t see it, we don’t have it”.

Here is a limited view of some items we have available.
Please call, or visit when we are open on Tuesdays,
to see all that we have to offer.

Food Pantry

Pantry users may select several days worth of food items to supplement their own supply of food.  The amount of food is adjusted according to family size.  We try to offer a variety of items.  This means that instead of being given pre-packed bags of food, you are able to choose the food items that you know your  family will eat.  However this program is not intended as a primary source of food.  We are here to help you after you have used your other resources.

Our goal is to provide some nourishing food to help stretch out what you already have.  All pantry items have been donated and are intended for personal use only; they cannot be sold, traded or bartered.

The pantry can also help in connecting to other programs such as Food Stamps, heating assistance and other income related programs.

All items in the pantry are generously  donated by individuals, community groups and local businesses in our area.

We Are Diffferent!

While most food pantries provide food for short-term emergency use only, we are aware that many people have an ongoing need for extra food.  We do our best to distribute food to people for as long as they have a need.  We are happy to share this food with you and pray that the day will come when you are no longer in need of our help.

Please remember that all of our workers are volunteers.  They come because they care and are trying to fill a need.  Clients who become abusive to other clients or the staff will lose the right to come to the pantry.

What to Expect on your First Visit

On your first visit to the pantry you will be asked to fill out an intake form.  Please fill out the intake form completely.  This form will be updated at least yearly.  You must bring proof of address and photo ID.

Proof of address must be a street address, NOT a P.O. Box.  A current utility bill such as cable, phone, electric or gas are acceptable.  Even if your mail is sent to a P.O. Box your utility bill will have a service address on it. Not sure?  Bring it with you, we can help.

Photo ID's such as a state issued driver's license or ID card, benefits card, passport, student ID card are all accepted.

All information is for OUR USE and affiliated food pantries ONLY and will be kept confidential.  Please let us know of any changes so we can update your application.

Our Misson Statement

The mission of the Venture Churches Food Pantry is to support those in our community who are in need of food and resources.

We are three local churches that have been serving people in our community for over thirty years. This ministry comes out of our faith and belief in helping fellow people in need.

We recognize each individual has unique needs.  We treat people with respect, dignity, compassion, kindness and without judgment or discrimination.

We provide a bridge to a variety of resources and cooperate with area businesses and other local food pantries.

“It is our policy to provide equal assistance to all qualified persons without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, veteran’s status, sexual orientation or disability.”
